Cath Lab Technologist

Location: Eau Claire, Wisconsin
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Department: Cath Lab
• Number of labs: 2
• Average cases per day: 6
• Common procedures: Coronary, Interventional Radiology (IR), Vascular procedures
• No Electrophysiology (EP) cases performed at this location
• Primary duties: Scrubbing, monitoring, and circulating cases
• Required skills: Scrub technique, general x-ray knowledge, familiarity with IR and cardiac cases
• EMR/Equipment used: Cerner and Merge
• Cardiologist on-call coverage: Evenings and weekends; approximately 10 days per month on STEMI divert due to cardiology coverage
• IR call coverage: 10 days per month with only 1 IR provider
• Shift hours: Monday to Thursday, 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM
• On-call requirements:

  • Monday to Thursday, 5:00 PM – 6:30 AM
  • Weekends (Friday to Sunday), 6:30 AM – 6:30 AM
  • Holidays as needed
• Call response time: 30 minutes
• Floating: Occasional 1:1 sitter assistance
• Scrubs provided (light blue)
• Orientation: Department-specific orientation with competency-based training assigned on day 1, to be completed within the first week

Required Qualifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) preferred
• Experience with scrub and pan/general x-ray knowledge
• Knowledge of IR and cardiac cases

Additional Notes

• Clinicians who have previously worked at this facility must have a minimum 6-month gap since their last assignment
• Clinicians must clock in and out at the facility
• On-call rotation includes every 3rd weekend and 1-2 weeknights per week

This job is suitable for experienced Cath Lab Technologists familiar with coronary and vascular procedures, comfortable with on-call responsibilities and working in a fast-paced interventional environment.
