Description
Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Med/Surg Telemetry
Location: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 12 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Unit: Medical/Surgical Telemetry
- Schedule: 3 shifts of 12 days each (3x12 days)
- Floating: Yes, within scope to meet facility needs, including sister facilities
- Local Radius Rule: Must live more than 75 miles from the contracted facility
- Return to Office (RTO) Restrictions: No more than 5 days allowed
- Charting System: Epic
- First-time Travelers: Not accepted
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Oklahoma
- Minimum 2 years of Med Surg / Telemetry experience, including experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification
- Experience with pacemakers
- Experience with Continuous Bladder Irrigation (CBI)
Additional Requirements
- Valid Driver’s License or State-issued ID
- Utility bill in the traveler’s name with matching address dated within the last 3 months (address must be greater than 75 miles from the contracted facility)
- Background checks including 7-year criminal background, education verification, and various federal/state sanction lists
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, confirming good health and no physical limitations
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within required timeframes
- Drug screening (10-panel, including marijuana) within 30 days prior to start
- Required immunizations and titers (e.g., MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Tdap, Flu vaccine) as per facility policy
- Completion of facility-specific orientation and competency exams, including medication, dysrhythmia/EKG, core safety, and unit-specific exams
- Fit testing for N95 masks completed onsite on the first day
- References: Two former direct supervisor references required (one within 1 year, one within 3 years)
- Employment history verification covering the last 10 years

- Candidates must be willing to float within the scope of practice to meet unit needs.
- Locals within 75 miles are not accepted for this travel assignment.
- Pending state licenses are not accepted.
- Block scheduling accommodations are not available.
This position requires a highly skilled Registered Nurse with telemetry experience and the ability to work night shifts in a fast-paced environment. Compliance with all health, safety, and credentialing requirements is mandatory.
