Registered Nurse (RN) – Interventional Radiology (Days)

Location: Pittsfield, Massachusetts

Job Description

This role involves providing nursing care in the Vascular and Interventional Radiology (VIR) specialty, which focuses on minimally invasive, image-guided procedures that often replace traditional surgery. Key procedures and responsibilities include:

• Angiogram of multiple systems
• Peripheral revascularization
• Placement and maintenance of hemodialysis catheters
• Nephrostomy drainage tubes
• Placement and maintenance of gastrostomy and jejunostomy tubes
• Central line placement
• Vascular access including port placement and integrity
• Pain management interventions
• Paracentesis and thoracentesis
• Pre- and post-care for patients undergoing renal, liver, and lung biopsies
• Carotid stenting

Note: Local candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible for this position.

Schedule & Work Conditions

• 10- or 12-hour shifts (no schedule accommodations will be considered)
• Personal scrubs of any color allowed
• 8 hours of non-billable orientation required
• Holiday and overtime pay multipliers apply
• Requests for time off (RTO) must be submitted and verified at the time of application; no more than 5 days of RTO allowed, and no requests will be approved after submission

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of current Interventional Radiology/IR RN experience
• Cardiac Cath and Electrophysiology experience required
• Defibrillation certification required
• IV skills required
• Critical Care Unit (CCU) experience required
• Ability to function independently and proficiently in a high-stress, work-intensive environment
• Attendance at all mandatory education sessions required
• Must have own vehicle for this assignment
• Must provide at least two specific interview dates/times (generic availability such as "anytime" is not accepted)

Licenses & Certifications

• Current Massachusetts RN license (must be uploaded with profile)
• Active American Heart Association BLS certification
• Active American Heart Association ACLS certification

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Meditech Expanse electronic health record system highly preferred

Additional Requirements

• Work history and skills checklist related to Interventional Radiology/Cath Lab current to within 1 year (documentation required)
• One supervisory signed reference from within the past two years of employment (documentation required)
• Traveler permanent address must be included in profile
• All scheduling requests and time off must be included at submission; no changes will be approved after offer
