Registered Nurse (PCU 4N) - Savannah, Georgia
Job Details
- Specialty: Progressive Care Unit (PCU 4N)
- Location: Savannah, Georgia
- Contract Length: 14 weeks
- Unit Details:
- 12 beds
- Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:4-5 depending on acuity
- Unit combines Med-Surg and Stepdown patients
- Common patient diagnoses: Med-Surg, Sickle Cell, heart failure, etc.
- Telemetry experience required
- RNs titrate set rate drips (no phlebotomy; RNs pull their own labs)
- Charge nurse takes an assignment
- Nurse aides present with a 12:1 ratio
- Respiratory therapy equipment includes nasal cannula, face masks, BiPAP
- No Tele/Monitor Techs on unit; monitored remotely
- RNs do not read their own strips
- Tele monitors brand: Space Lab
- Scheduling allows self-scheduling and block scheduling
- Weekend requirement: every other weekend
- Holiday requirement: yes
- No call or standby requirement
- No floating requirement
- Dress code: Navy scrubs
- Orientation: One day computer skills with knowledge assessment, plus two shifts with preceptor; 12-hour night shifts
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Georgia
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 2 years of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience, including experience within the last year
- One completed travel assignment
- BLS certification
- Telemetry experience
Additional Notes
- Strict 100-mile radius rule; local candidates will not be considered
- Candidates must pass clinical resume review for consideration
- Start dates: one candidate needed by April 6; two candidates needed by April 20
