Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - CVOR

Location: Winfield, Illinois
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 12 weeks


Job Summary

Seeking a Registered Nurse with strong Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) experience. Candidates must have at least 3 years of recent CVOR experience or a strong CV to be considered. On-call availability is required, including one CV call per month. Weekend work is also required.


Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Minimum 3 years of Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) experience, including experience within the last year
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Certifications (as applicable to CVOR RN)

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA or RQI accepted
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – AHA or RQI accepted
  • Other specialty certifications may be required depending on assignment specifics

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

  • Complete and maintain all required employment and compliance documentation, including I9 and valid government-issued ID
  • 7-year criminal background check within 30 days of start
  • Education verification and transcript/diploma matching degree
  • Illinois Healthcare Worker Registry eligibility and fingerprinting completed in Illinois (out-of-state fingerprints not accepted)
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start confirming good health and ability to perform job duties
  • Fit mask testing within 12 months of start and annually thereafter (3M Aura 1870+ required)
  • Required immunizations and health screenings including:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
    • Negative TB test or chest x-ray as applicable
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) immunity or vaccination
    • Varicella immunity or vaccination
    • Hepatitis B vaccine series or positive titer (declinations accepted)
    • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption during flu season
    • COVID-19 vaccination series or declination form
  • Drug screening (10-panel) within 30 days of start
  • Completion of facility-specific training modules and policy acknowledgements prior to start
  • Sexual harassment training annually
  • OSHA Respiratory Safety clearance if fit test is failed

Additional Requirements

  • Employment history covering 7 years with explanations for gaps over 30 days
  • Passing competency exam as required
  • Color blindness testing (if applicable)
  • Completion of confidentiality, privacy, and information security agreements
  • Accommodation request forms for vaccinations or fit test failures if applicable

Work Conditions

  • On-call availability with monthly CV call requirement
  • Weekend shifts required
  • Meal breaks of 30 minutes
