Job Opportunity: CT Tech
Location: Columbia, South Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Details
- Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
- Shift: 4x10 hour shifts, Tuesday to Friday, 10:30 AM – 9:00 PM
- On-call: No
- Weekend Requirement: No
- Floating: No floating between units or facilities required
Required Qualifications
- Valid CT Technologist license in South Carolina
- Minimum 1 year of CT Technologist experience within the last year
- Certifications required:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ARRT (CT)
- SCRQSA (CT) - South Carolina Radiology License
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system
Facility & Work Environment
- Acute Care Hospital setting
- Charting systems: Epic, Sectra for PACS
- Parking available with no fee (parking pass provided at badge pickup)
- Scrub color: Black and/or Teal
- Hurricane season (June-November) may require emergency response team participation
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Proof of work eligibility (I-9 attestation and documentation)
- Copy of Driver’s License/State ID
- Copy of Social Security Card or SSN verification
- Background check within 90 days including:
- SSN trace
- Statewide and national criminal checks
- Sex offender registry
- FACIS 3
- Education verification or diploma/transcripts as placeholder
- State license primary source verification (active, unencumbered)
- NURSYS verification (for RNs) if applicable
- Drug screen: 10-panel within 90 days of start
- Physical exam within 90 days, updated annually, confirming ability to meet job demands
- Respirator medical clearance annually (RespSafety questionnaire)
- Immunizations and titers as required:
- Tdap within 10 years or declination form
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (positive titer or vaccines)
- Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination)
- Varicella (positive titer or vaccines)
- TB test (T-spot or Q-Gold) within 90 days or chest x-ray if positive history
- Flu vaccine or medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Aug-April)
- COVID vaccination highly preferred; declination form required if not vaccinated
Additional Requirements
- Clear, passport-style photo for badge (frontal view, solid light background)
- Completion of facility-specific orientation modules prior to start (approx. 2 hours)
- Proof of 2 clinical references, including at least one from the unit of assignment
- Employment application/resume with complete work history, including PTO and contract assignments
- Skills checklist updated annually (if applicable)
- Radiation badge process must be initiated prior to start; badge required before working on floor
Notes
- Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
- Local candidates accepted
- All required documents and certifications must be current and valid at start date
- Modules and onboarding instructions will be provided after clearance
- Travelers should be aware of potential emergency assignments during hurricane season
This position is ideal for CT Technologists with at least 1 year of experience, who are comfortable working in an acute care hospital environment with advanced imaging equipment and electronic health records. Prior travel experience is not required.
