Description

Job Opportunity: CT Tech

Location: Columbia, South Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Position Details

  • Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
  • Shift: 4x10 hour shifts, Tuesday to Friday, 10:30 AM – 9:00 PM
  • On-call: No
  • Weekend Requirement: No
  • Floating: No floating between units or facilities required

Required Qualifications

  • Valid CT Technologist license in South Carolina
  • Minimum 1 year of CT Technologist experience within the last year
  • Certifications required:
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • ARRT (CT)
    • SCRQSA (CT) - South Carolina Radiology License
  • Experience with Epic electronic health record system

Facility & Work Environment

  • Acute Care Hospital setting
  • Charting systems: Epic, Sectra for PACS
  • Parking available with no fee (parking pass provided at badge pickup)
  • Scrub color: Black and/or Teal
  • Hurricane season (June-November) may require emergency response team participation

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

  • Proof of work eligibility (I-9 attestation and documentation)
  • Copy of Driver’s License/State ID
  • Copy of Social Security Card or SSN verification
  • Background check within 90 days including:
    • SSN trace
    • Statewide and national criminal checks
    • Sex offender registry
    • FACIS 3
  • Education verification or diploma/transcripts as placeholder
  • State license primary source verification (active, unencumbered)
  • NURSYS verification (for RNs) if applicable
  • Drug screen: 10-panel within 90 days of start
  • Physical exam within 90 days, updated annually, confirming ability to meet job demands
  • Respirator medical clearance annually (RespSafety questionnaire)
  • Immunizations and titers as required:
    • Tdap within 10 years or declination form
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (positive titer or vaccines)
    • Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination)
    • Varicella (positive titer or vaccines)
  • TB test (T-spot or Q-Gold) within 90 days or chest x-ray if positive history
  • Flu vaccine or medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Aug-April)
  • COVID vaccination highly preferred; declination form required if not vaccinated

Additional Requirements

  • Clear, passport-style photo for badge (frontal view, solid light background)
  • Completion of facility-specific orientation modules prior to start (approx. 2 hours)
  • Proof of 2 clinical references, including at least one from the unit of assignment
  • Employment application/resume with complete work history, including PTO and contract assignments
  • Skills checklist updated annually (if applicable)
  • Radiation badge process must be initiated prior to start; badge required before working on floor

Notes

  • Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
  • Local candidates accepted
  • All required documents and certifications must be current and valid at start date
  • Modules and onboarding instructions will be provided after clearance
  • Travelers should be aware of potential emergency assignments during hurricane season

This position is ideal for CT Technologists with at least 1 year of experience, who are comfortable working in an acute care hospital environment with advanced imaging equipment and electronic health records. Prior travel experience is not required.
