Description

Job Summary: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Everett, Washington
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Position Details

  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Shift: 5x8 hour day shifts
  • Weekends: Required every other weekend
  • Experience Required: Minimum 1 year in specialty (Acute Care experience required)
  • First-timers: Accepted
  • Float Requirement: Must float between units including multiple campuses within 2 miles
  • Locals: Not accepted
  • Guaranteed Hours: 72 hours per 2-week period

Specialty & Experience Requirements

  • Must have Acute Care experience
  • Experience in Discharge Planning/Care Coordination required
  • Strong preference for candidates with diverse Case Management experience including Med Surg, LLOS, and ED
  • Years of Experience Required: 1 year (highest requirement found)
  • Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required

Required Licenses & Certifications

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license for Washington (pending license accepted)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
  • Other certifications may be required based on unit assignment (e.g., ACLS, PALS, TNCC for ER, Chemotherapy for Oncology) — verify per unit requirements

Facility & Work Environment

  • Level II Trauma Center
  • 571 staffed beds across two campuses
  • Charting system: EPIC
  • Scrub color: Any except reddish orange
  • Parking: Facility paid

Required Qualifications & Compliance

  • Valid RN license in Washington
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Minimum 1 year of Case Management experience within the last year
  • Discharge Planning experience
  • Acute Care experience
  • BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • Must complete all required background checks and verifications including:
    • Background check within 45 days of start
    • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks updated monthly
    • Education verification (nursing degree)
    • State-specific searches (Washington WATCH/WSP)
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start
  • Fit mask testing required annually (specific mask types accepted)
  • Immunizations and health documents required:
    • TDAP within 10 years (declination accepted)
    • Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 12 months, updated annually
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
    • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
    • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
    • Seasonal flu vaccine or declination during flu season
    • COVID vaccine or declination
  • Drug screening: 10 panel within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
  • References: Minimum 2 supervisor references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within last 3 years
  • Employment application covering at least last 5 years

Training & Competency Requirements

  • Medication test/pharmacology competency exam as applicable
  • Unit-specific competency exams and skills checklists updated annually
  • Color blindness testing if required by unit
  • Specialty-specific training modules via WorkRamp LMS (annual completion required)
  • EPIC training modules completion required prior to or shortly after start
  • Float policy acknowledgment required

Additional Notes

  • Candidates may be required to complete specialty-specific certifications depending on assignment (e.g., TNCC for ER, Chemotherapy certification for Oncology)
  • Must be willing to float between units and campuses
  • Pending licenses accepted but must be valid before start
  • Locals are not accepted for this travel contract position

This position is ideal for a Registered Nurse with at least 1 year of acute care experience, comfortable working in a Level II Trauma Center environment, and willing to float across multiple hospital units and campuses. Compliance with all licensing, certification, health, and training requirements is mandatory.
