Job Opportunity: CT/XR Technologist - Nights
Location: Vail, Colorado
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights (typically 1830-0700, usually Monday-Wednesday, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each)
Guaranteed Hours: 32 per week
Position Summary
Perform diagnostic CT and radiographic examinations ensuring image quality, patient safety, radiation safety, and satisfaction of patients and physicians. This role involves direct patient care and requires adherence to safety and quality standards.
Essential Job Functions
- Perform all CT and Radiographic exams according to established protocols.
- Review each exam for technical accuracy and communicate relevant information to patient care providers.
- Monitor and maintain inventory of supplies in the exam room.
- Verify patient identity and exam orders for consistency with clinical diagnosis and demographic information.
- Maintain effective communication with patients, families, physicians, and healthcare team members.
- Follow department policies on confidentiality, quality assurance, safety, radiation protection, infection control, and universal precautions.
- Use hospital information systems and PACS for patient documentation.
- Model organizational values and a Just Culture.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience preferred; healthcare setting experience required.
- Licensure: Registered Technologist (R.T.) with American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification including Computed Tomography (CT) credentials.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
- Skills:
- Computer proficiency or ability to obtain within 90 days for online learning and documentation.
- Proficient in English (reading, writing, speaking).
Physical Demands & Work Environment
- Exposure to healthcare hazards such as radiation, chemicals, biological hazards, noise, and stress.
- Physical activity during workday includes sitting (10%), standing (10%), walking (30%), squatting (10%), bending (10%), and lifting (up to 20 lbs frequently, up to 35 lbs frequently).
- Work with all age groups: neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, middle-aged, and geriatric populations.
