Location: Greenville, South Carolina

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Work schedule: 5 days a week, 8-hour shifts (shift times may vary based on need).
• Must be able to independently assist with ECMO cannulation for adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients.
• Comfortable working in fast-paced emergent cardiac cases.
• ECMO transport experience is required.
• Must have experience with Spectrum pumps (recently transitioned to this system).
• Additional equipment experience requested: Terumo system 1, Quest MPS 2/3 Cardioplegia, ISTAT, Centrimag, Impella 5.5, Bellmont Hyperthermia Kit, CardioHelp, Angiovac, CardioQuip HC.
• Scrubs provided by the unit.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Perfusionist, including experience within the last year.
• Completion of at least one travel assignment as a Perfusionist.
• Certifications:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • Clinical Perfusionist certification (ABCP)
• Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field of study.
• Experience working with adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients.
• Ability to independently assist with ECMO cannulation in adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients.
• ECMO transport experience.
• Experience with Spectrum pumps.
• Experience with Terumo system 1.
• Experience with Quest MPS 2/3 Cardioplegia.
• Experience working with Epic electronic health record system.

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Proof of identity and eligibility to work (I9, Driver’s License/State ID).
• Background checks including 7-year history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, and fingerprinting as applicable.
• Education verification and licensure primary source verification (must be current and valid for South Carolina).
• Physical exam within 1 year attesting ability to meet physical demands.
• Immunizations and health screenings including:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (if working in high-risk areas)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 90 days of start
  • Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella immunity or vaccination
  • Hepatitis B vaccination series or declination
  • Varicella immunity or vaccination
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption (not required for remote workers)
• Drug screening within 1 year and updated annually.

Orientation and Training

• Completion of online modules and pass/fail testing (approximately 12-16 hours) prior to start.
• Pass/fail exams include medication and arrhythmia tests (specific to role).
• Fit mask testing will be completed onsite during orientation.

Additional Notes

• Floating policy acknowledgment required.
• Badge photo required prior to start.
• Must carry valid ID while on duty.
• Candidate must be prepared for a fast-paced, emergent cardiac environment with advanced perfusion technology.

This position is ideal for experienced perfusionists with strong ECMO and transport skills, who have prior travel contract experience and are comfortable working with advanced cardiac support equipment in a high-acuity setting.
