Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology Nurse (RN)

Position Details

• Employment Type: Contractor
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN) in Interventional Radiology (IR)
• Patient Ratios: 1:1

Facility & Unit Information

• Level IV Trauma Center with Level III NICU and Primary Stroke Center
• IR Unit includes 1 Holding Room (fits 2 patients) and 2 IR Suites
• Patient types include line placements, drains, guided biopsies, vascular work, carotid stents, angiograms, and AAA repair

Required Qualifications

• Licensure: Registered Nurse (RN) license required
• Certifications: BLS and ACLS required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience preferred (1 year experience may be considered upon review)
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required

Skills & Responsibilities

• Transport inpatient/handoff
• Administer medications for sedation
• Manage pre/post procedure recoveries
• Circulate during procedures
• Conduct discharge follow-up calls
• Schedule and coordinate orders

Support & Team

• IR Aid/Transporter
• Charge RN/Lead Tech
• Management support
• Respiratory Therapy
• Hospitalists

Technology & Equipment

• EMR system: EPIC
• IV pumps: Alaris
• Medication dispensing: Pyxis
• Patient monitors available

Scheduling & Orientation

• Orientation includes at least one shift to learn unit flow
• Weekend rotation: every 6th weekend
• On-call required: one weeknight call shift per week and one weekend every 6th weekend
• 30-minute response time expected during on-call
• Call team includes 1 tech and 1 RN
• Holiday call only
• Shift start times flexible: 7:00 AM, 7:30 AM, or 8:00 AM
