Description

Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology Nurse (RN)

Position Details

Employment Type: Contractor
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN) – Interventional Radiology (IR)
Patient Types: Line placements, drains, guided biopsies, vascular work, carotid stents, angiograms, abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) repair
Patient Ratios: 1:1

Required Qualifications

Licensure: Registered Nurse (RN) license required
Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
Experience: Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
Prior Travel Experience: First-time travelers considered upon review (prior travel experience not strictly required)

Skills and Responsibilities

Transport inpatient/handoff
Administer medications for sedation
Manage pre- and post-procedure recoveries
Circulate during procedures
Conduct discharge follow-up calls
Schedule and coordinate orders

Work Environment and Support

Support staff includes IR Aide/Transporter, Charge RN/Lead Tech, Management, Respiratory Therapy, and Hospitalists
Technology used: EPIC EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing, patient monitors
No floating to other units

Orientation and Scheduling

Orientation: At least one shift to learn unit flow
Weekend rotation: Every 6th weekend
On-call: Yes
- One weeknight call shift per week and one weekend every 6th weekend
- 30-minute response time required
- Call team includes 1 RN and 1 tech
Holiday expectations: Call only
Shift start times: Flexible (07:00, 07:30, or 08:00)
