Description

Registered Nurse - PACU

Location: Asheville, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 24 weeks

Unit Overview

Unit: Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)
Number of Beds: 40
Patient Ratio: 1:2
Scheduling: 6-week schedules; 3 call shifts required within each 6-week period
Floating Policy: Float within peri-anesthesia areas (Endoscopy, PreOp, Phase II)
Documentation System: Cerner
Unit Staffing: Unit secretaries and 4 patient care technicians (PCTs) assigned to specific pods; PCTs assist with labs, catheterizations, and patient transport
Required Scrub Colors: Surgical green or navy

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Minimum 2 years of RN experience in PACU
Stroke experience within the last year (minimum 1 year)
Pediatric experience and experience working with pediatric patients
Trauma experience
NIH Stroke Scale experience
Ventilator monitoring skills
Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS
