Description

Registered Nurse - Post Partum/Mom Baby

Location: Asheville, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit Information

Unit: Mother Baby Unit
Number of Beds: 34 private couplet rooms
Staffing:
- Day Shift: 1 charge nurse, 11 RNs, 1 PCT/secretary
- Night Shift: 1 charge nurse, 11 RNs, 1 PCT/secretary
Patient Ratios: 1:3-4 couplets
Equipment: Alaris pumps, Bilirubin blankets/lights
EMR System: Cerner

Job Description

Provide nursing care on the Mother Baby Unit, including caring for patients on Magnesium Sulfate post-delivery
Typical procedures include circumcisions
Floating areas include Labor & Delivery and NICU
Weekends required; no on-call shifts

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in North Carolina
Minimum 2 years of Post Partum experience, including experience within the last year
Mother Baby experience
Experience working with Maternal-Fetal patients
BLS certification
NRP certification
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Ideal Candidate

Team player who loves to teach
Comfortable working in a busy, specialized Mother Baby unit environment
