Description

Registered Nurse – Post Partum / Mom Baby

Location: Asheville, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit Information

Unit: Mother Baby Unit
Beds: 34 private couplet rooms
Staffing:
- Day Shift: 1 charge nurse, 11 RNs, 1 PCT/secretary
- Night Shift: 1 charge nurse, 11 RNs, 1 PCT/secretary
Patient Ratios: 1:3-4 couplets
Equipment: Alaris pumps, Bilirubin blankets/lights
EMR System: Cerner

Job Description

Provide nursing care on the Mother Baby Unit, focusing on postpartum mothers and newborns.
Typical procedures include circumcisions.
Caring for patients on Magnesium Sulfate post-delivery is preferred.
STABLE certification is a plus.
Team player who enjoys teaching is the best personality fit.

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Minimum 2 years of Maternal-Newborn nursing experience, including Mother Baby experience
Maternal-Newborn experience within the last year
Experience working with Maternal-Fetal patients
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification

Additional Information

Weekend shifts are required; no on-call shifts.
Dress code: Navy blue/white scrubs.
Floating areas include Labor & Delivery and NICU.
Prior travel experience is preferred but not required.
