Description

Registered Nurse - Post Partum/Mom Baby

Location: Asheville, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Unit Information

  • Unit: Mother Baby Unit
  • Beds: 34 private couplet rooms
  • Staffing:
    • Day Shift: 1 charge nurse, 11 RNs, 1 PCT/secretary
    • Night Shift: 1 charge nurse, 11 RNs, 1 PCT/secretary
  • Patient Ratios: 1:3-4 couplets
  • Equipment: Alaris pumps, Bilirubin blankets/lights
  • EMR System: Cerner

Job Description

  • Provide nursing care on the Mother Baby Unit, including care for postpartum mothers and newborns.
  • Typical procedures include circumcisions.
  • Caring for patients on Magnesium Sulfate post-delivery is preferred.
  • STABLE certification is preferred.
  • Team player who enjoys teaching is the best personality fit.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of Post Partum nursing experience, including experience within the last year
  • Experience in Mother Baby nursing
  • Experience working with Maternal-Fetal patients
  • BLS certification
  • NRP certification

Additional Information

  • Floating areas include Labor & Delivery and NICU as helping hands.
  • Dress code: Navy blue/white scrubs.
  • Weekends are required; no on-call shifts.
