Job Opportunity: CT Tech

Location: Matthews, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Must have experience with Siemens equipment (mandatory).
  • Orientation is 16 hours, typically from 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM.
  • Start dates may vary and are subject to trainer availability; travelers must be fully available during orientation week.
  • No call, float, or regular weekend requirements; occasional weekend coverage may be required with 2 weeks' notice.
  • Shift: 8-hour evening shifts (1:30 PM – 10:00 PM).
  • Patient age groups include neonates through geriatrics.
  • Work setting includes Adult Acute Care, ICU, and Emergency Department.
  • Busy outpatient and emergency department schedule.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Valid CT Technologist license in North Carolina
  • Minimum 2 years of CT Technologist experience, including experience within the last year
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
  • ARRT CT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists - CT) certification
  • Experience in Acute Care settings, including Adult Acute Care, ICU, and Emergency Department
  • Management and lead experience in CT technology roles
  • Preparation and/or administration of contrast media
  • Radiation safety knowledge and practice
  • Skills in starting peripheral IVs and venipuncture
  • Proficient in abdomen and pelvis CT imaging (with and/or without contrast)
  • Skilled in vascular chest CT imaging
  • Experience with musculoskeletal trauma CT imaging

Preferred Skills and Certifications

  • Experience with PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System)
  • Skills in colorectal studies (rectal contrast), heart imaging, 3D rendering, multiplanar reconstruction, region of interest (ROI)
  • Special procedures such as aspirations, biopsies, brain perfusion, CT arthrography, drainage, myelography

Patient Population

  • Neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
  • All types of patient diagnoses

Equipment and Systems

  • Siemens imaging equipment (mandatory)
  • EPIC electronic health record system

Orientation and Scheduling

  • Orientation is mandatory and must be completed fully to avoid delayed or canceled start.
  • Scheduling is based on unit needs.
  • Travelers must be flexible with start dates and orientation scheduling.

Required Documentation and Compliance

Candidates must provide and maintain the following (not exhaustive):

  • Valid professional license and certifications relevant to CT Tech.
  • Background checks within required timeframes.
  • Immunizations and health screenings including TB test, flu vaccination or exemption, and others as per healthcare regulations.
  • Drug screening within 6 months of start.
  • Compliance with facility-specific training and education modules.
  • Photo for badge creation (passport style, white background, business attire).
  • Completion of required safety and competency exams.

Additional Notes

  • Scrubs are not provided; royal blue scrubs are the standard.
  • No call-offs or additional time off allowed after booking without risk of cancellation.
  • Prior travel experience is not required; first-time travelers are accepted.
  • Must be fully available during orientation week with no other commitments.

This position is ideal for CT Technologists with at least 2 years of experience who are comfortable working in a fast-paced acute care environment and have proficiency with Siemens CT equipment.
