Description

Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Neuro ICU

Location: Madison, Wisconsin
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Shift Details

  • Evening/Night shifts
  • 12-hour shifts (1900-0730)
  • Every other weekend and some holidays

Start Dates

  • Available start dates: April 20, May 4, or May 18, 2026

Required Experience & Skills

  • Minimum 2 years of acute care experience within the past 3 years
  • Experience with Intracranial Pressure (ICP) monitoring or ventriculostomy required
  • Basic Arrhythmia experience required
  • Must pass Telemetry test prior to start
  • Epic electronic health record experience required

Licensure & Certifications

  • Wisconsin Registered Nurse (RN) license or compact RN license required
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications required

Additional Requirements

  • Prior travel experience required (first-time travelers not accepted)
  • Must complete and pass facility-specific Telemetry testing (Adult Telemetry Test) with remediation process if needed
  • Compliance with Wisconsin state-mandated caregiver screening and background checks
  • Required health documents including immunizations, TB testing, drug screening, and vaccine documentation (flu, MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B, etc.)
  • Completion of facility-specific forms and acknowledgments (e.g., safety manual, communicable disease form)

Compliance & Documentation Highlights

  • Background checks including SSN trace, nationwide, sex offender, and state-specific caregiver screening
  • Education verification as applicable
  • Drug screening per standards
  • Annual skills checklist and medication/pharmacology competency exams
  • Physical exam (per agency standard)
  • Immunization and vaccine requirements with options for medical or religious exemptions
  • Telemetry testing with strict passing criteria and remediation process

References & Application

  • Two clinical references within the last 3 years required
  • Employment application required

This position is ideal for experienced Neuro ICU RNs with acute care and telemetry skills, who have prior travel contract experience and meet Wisconsin licensure and certification requirements.
