Job Opportunity: NICU/PICU Therapist

Location: Orlando, Florida
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Position Details

  • Specialty: Level 4 NICU
  • Role: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
  • Shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (Days, approximately 06:45 - 07:15)
  • Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
  • Weekend Shifts: 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
  • Call Requirements: None

Unit Information

  • Number of Beds: 142
  • Patient Ratios: 6-8 patients per therapist
  • Patient Population: Premature infants
  • Equipment Used:
    • High-Frequency Jet Ventilator (HFJV)
    • High-Frequency Oscillatory Ventilator (HFOV)
    • Conventional ventilators
    • Nitric oxide therapy
    • Bubble CPAP (BCPAP)
    • Heated High Flow Nasal Cannula (HHFNC)
    • Long-Term Ventilator (LTV)
    • Transport ventilators (T1, MR1)
  • Electronic Medical Record (EMR) System: EPIC

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Respiratory Therapist license in Florida
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist, including experience within the last year
  • Minimum 2 years of Level 4 NICU experience
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
  • Experience with High-Frequency Jet Ventilator (HFJV)
