Travel Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical
Location: Beaufort, South Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Requires 2 years of Medical Surgical nursing experience (including stepdown/PCU experience).
- Nurses will float to the PCU unit as needed.
- Patient ratios: 1:5 / 1:6.
- First-time travelers accepted.
- Must have a South Carolina nursing license.
- Shift schedule includes weekdays, every other weekend, float, and holidays as needed.
- Electronic Medical Record system used: Meditech.
Required Certifications
- BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support)
- NIH Stroke Scale Certification (NIHSS)
- South Carolina RN License
Required Qualifications
- No license or background issues accepted.
- Must be able to work within a 50-mile radius of the facility.
Required Documentation & Compliance
- Proof of I9 or Attestation
- Government-issued photo ID (must be carried during hours of service)
- Proof of E-Verify or Attestation
- Criminal background check within 6 months of start (or within 30 days for new candidates)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start and updated for renewals
- Primary source verification of nursing license (NURSYS verification required)
- Physical exam attesting ability to meet physical demands
- Immunizations and health screenings including:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years or declination)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella titers or vaccinations (or declination)
- Hepatitis B titer or vaccine series (or declination)
- Varicella titer or vaccinations (or declination)
- Seasonal Flu vaccination or declination (for placements starting on or after 9/10/2025)
- COVID vaccination or declination
- Drug testing: 10-panel within 6 months (or 30 days for new candidates), instant tests not accepted
- Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations
- Performance evaluation if previously completed assignments through any agency
- Completed employment application/resume
- Skills checklist updated annually for applicable units
- Completion of required Relias training modules (~81 modules) prior to first shift and orientation
- Badge photo meeting facility standards
Additional Notes
- Facility is strict on documentation and compliance requirements.
- Orientation includes opportunity to complete required training modules if not done prior to start.
- Floating to PCU unit requires flexibility and relevant experience.
Prior travel experience: Not required (first-time travelers accepted).
