Job Opportunity: Physical Therapist - Outpatient

Location: Battle Creek, Michigan
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Work Hours:
    • Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
    • Thursday: 8:15 AM – 3:45 PM
    • Friday: 9:00 AM – 4:30 PM
  • Guaranteed 40 hours per week
  • No call, weekend, or float requirements
  • Must be available for the three days ending at 6 PM; shorter day hours are negotiable
  • Preferred experience with pelvic floor therapy patients (not required)
  • Required skills: Orthopedic and Neurological therapy

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Physical Therapist license in Michigan
  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a Physical Therapist, including experience within the last year
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

  • Criminal background check within 45 days of start, including lifetime search back to age 18
  • E-Verify compliance
  • Government-issued photo ID
  • Education verification (copy of highest degree or diploma)
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start
  • Drug testing: 10-panel including Marijuana/THC within 30 days of start
  • Immunizations and health documents required:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (proof of at least one prior Tdap vaccine)
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray as applicable
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
    • Hepatitis B (titer, series, or declination)
    • Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
    • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption (medical/spiritual) required for candidates starting after November 1
  • Fingerprinting (Michigan LARA) required within 45 days of start for certain positions; check if applicable
  • Completion of facility-specific policies including Code of Conduct, Appearance Standards, and Safety Manual Acknowledgement

Certifications (as applicable)

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only
  • ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC, EFM, CHEMO, ENPC, NIH Stroke Certification, CPI - Crisis Prevention Institute (depending on unit and specialty)
  • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam within 1 year prior to assignment start
  • Competency exam in specialty within 1 year prior to assignment start

Additional Notes

  • One professional reference from a supervisor or manager required
  • Complete employment application/resume with full 7 years work history, no gaps
  • Skills checklist must be updated annually
  • Fit testing required on-site for certain roles (not required for outpatient PT/PTAs)
  • Vaccine exemption requests require facility-specific forms and approval
