Description

Registered Nurse - Telemetry

Location: Salem, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

Provide nursing care on a 32-bed Orthopedic/Neuro Med/Surg unit with medical overflow patients.
Unit includes 16 beds in one area and 16 beds in another.
Floating to other applicable units is required when requested.
Rotating shifts for day positions (7a-7p, 11a-11p, or 7p-7a) with low rotation frequency; night positions do not rotate.
Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips.
Patient ratio:
- Day and evening shifts: 1:4 (may go up to 1:5)
- Night shift: 1:5 or 1:6
Patient population includes scheduled elective orthopedic and neuro/surgical patients, fractures, neuro patients, and medical overflow.

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Massachusetts.
Minimum 2 years of Med Surg / Telemetry nursing experience, with experience within the last year.
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or Red Cross.
