Job Details

• Specialty: Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU)
• Shift: 3 shifts per week, 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Patient Ratio: 1:2 (with occasional 1:1 based on acuity)
• Unit Size: 16 beds
• Patient Types: Sepsis, ARDS, renal failure, heart failure, pre-VAD workups, alcohol withdrawal, overdose, multi-organ failure, post cardiac arrest/targeted temperature management, respiratory failure/shock, CRRT, EKOS, IABP, ECMO, Impella
• Floating: Required
• Locals: Not accepted; must live over 75 miles away
• First Time Travelers: Accepted

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in New York
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Minimum 1 year of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience within the last year
• ACLS issued by American Heart Association
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• NIHSS certification
• Experience with Epic charting system

Health & Compliance Requirements

Candidates must complete all health-related requirements and lab work within 5 days of signing the contract, including but not limited to:

• Physical exam (within 1 year)
• Fit mask test (annual)
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray (within 1 year)
• Required immunizations or titers: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
• Drug screening (within 30 days of start)
• Seasonal flu vaccination or signed declination (during flu season)
• Eye exam (Snellen, within 1 year)
• COVID vaccination copy preferred but not required

Background & Documentation Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID required
• 7-year criminal background check (felony checks) within 3 months of start
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 3 months of start, updated monthly
• Education verification from primary source (transcripts/diplomas if no verification on file)
• State-specific checks including sex offender registry and Medicaid exclusion list as applicable
• Employment verification of at least 2 past employments
• References (2 within 3 years) required for agency direct candidates

• Orientation includes completion of safety manual acknowledgment
• Photo for badge required (passport-style with solid background)
• Candidates will be required to complete facility-specific modules prior to start
• Parking pass form required for orientation
