CT Technologist
Employment Type: Contractor
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Perform CT scans in a 60-bed facility with Level IV Trauma Center and Stroke Ready designation.
- Average workload: Approximately 20 scans per shift.
- Work with 2 CT scanners, sharing a control room.
- Patient types include outpatients, emergency department, inpatients, and Level II trauma cases.
- Common scans: strokes, brain CTAs, CT perfusions, abdomen, extremities, spine, neck, head, pulmonary embolisms.
- Patient age range mostly toddlers and adults; infant scans are rare.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2+ years of acute care CT experience.
- Prior travel experience is required unless candidate has 10+ years of CT experience.
- Licenses/Certifications:
- ARRT (CT)
- State CT Technologist License
- BLS certification
- Skills:
- Experience with stroke/brain CTA scans.
- Comfortable working independently.
- Experience with Canon and Toshiba CT scanners highly preferred.
- IV starts, CT perfusions, and biopsy/special procedure experience preferred.
Work Schedule & Orientation
- Shift: 12:30 PM – 10:00 PM, Monday through Thursday.
- No weekend rotation or on-call required.
- Holiday work expected if it falls on a scheduled day.
- Orientation includes 3 days of unit-specific training plus facility orientation.
Department Support & Environment
- 2 CT techs on day shift; 1 CT tech after 6:30 PM.
- Imaging Patient Assistant available until 9:00 PM.
- Concierge at imaging desk for outpatient needs.
- Radiology nurse support until 4:00 PM.
- Phlebotomy services available.
- House supervisor available for IV support after hours.
- Lead CT technologist on site during day shift.
- RT, MRI, and X-ray services available 24/7.
- Unit culture described as fun and close-knit.
- Dress code: Any solid color scrubs, professional appearance (no graphics, logos, or designs).
- Free parking available.
Technology & Equipment
- EMR system: EPIC (preferred).
- PACS: McKesson.
- Medication dispensing: Pyxis.
- CT scanners: Canon 80-slice and 40-slice models.
