Job Opportunity: Perfusionist

Location: New Brunswick, New Jersey

• Floating: Yes, may float to connected cancer center for HIPEC cases
• Block Schedule: Not accommodated

• Pending State License: Accepted (license processing takes about 1-3 weeks)
• Required Experience: Level I Trauma, Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR), and general Operating Room experience required
• Charting Systems: EPIC and Pyxis
• Scrubs: Provided

Required Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support): Required
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): Highly preferred

Required Qualifications

• Valid Perfusionist license in New Jersey (pending license accepted)
• Minimum 1 year of perfusionist experience within the last year
• Experience as a CVOR Technologist
• BLS certification

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Background Check: Criminal background check required within 30 days of start
• Drug Screen: Negative drug screen within 30 days of start
• Health Documents:

  • Physical exam within the last 12 months, cleared to perform essential job functions and free of communicable disease
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray as per facility requirements
  • Immunizations and titers for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap
  • Annual influenza vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption
• Respiratory Medical Clearance: Required prior to start, including on-site fit testing
• Fit Test: Required if job tasks involve respirator use or glove wearing
• Color Blind Exam: Required if job tasks require color discrimination
• References: Two references within the last 2 years, including at least one managerial reference
• Employment History: Resume or application with 7 years of work history required
• Skills Checklist: Must be completed and updated annually

• Time off requests must be submitted and approved prior to offer
• Candidates must comply with facility floating policies
• All required documentation must be submitted timely to clear for assignment
• Candidates switching between sites with less than 30 days gap may have some documentation accepted from previous assignment

This position offers an opportunity to work in a high-acuity environment with exposure to trauma and cardiovascular OR cases, utilizing EPIC and Pyxis systems. It is suitable for perfusionists with at least 1 year of experience who are flexible to float within connected units.
