Description

Registered Nurse - Rehab

Location: Asheville, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

This position is for a Registered Nurse in an 80-bed inpatient acute rehabilitation hospital. The facility provides a full continuum of post-acute rehabilitative care, including programs for stroke, traumatic brain injury, amputation, and other conditions. The unit offers traditional physical, occupational, and speech therapies as well as specialty rehabilitation programs.


Unit Details

  • Number of Beds: 65
  • Patient Ratios: 5-6 patients per nurse
  • Unit Staffing: CNAs available all shifts; 11 hours of unit secretary support daily
  • Equipment: IV pumps, specialty beds, feeding pumps, lifts and transfer equipment, life vests
  • Documentation System: Meditech
  • Scheduling: Mostly 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, primarily on weekends
  • Floating Policy: No floating; all units are connected and interchangeable
  • Patient Experience: Med surge and rehab experience is a plus

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Minimum 2 years of rehabilitation nursing experience
  • Rehabilitation nursing experience within the last year
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Additional Information

  • Procedures on unit include dialysis (performed by specialized nurses from another facility)
  • Dress Code: Navy scrubs with white tops
  • Facility is the only rehabilitation hospital in Western North Carolina (not a skilled nursing facility)
  • Accredited by CARF and Joint Commission
