Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse – MS/Telemetry

Location: Rochester, New York
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Schedule & Work Details

• Shift Hours: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: Must be available to work every other holiday, if needed
• Charting System: EPIC experience required
• Call-off Policy: Up to three shifts may be canceled during the contract without penalty
• Floating: Required to float within skillset
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:5
• Locals: Registered Nurses within 75 miles are not accepted
• First-time travelers accepted

Required Licenses & Certifications

• Active New York RN license (NY is not a Compact state)
• BLS certification required
• ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC, EFM certifications as required by unit
• State license verification and NURSYS verification required within 30 days of start

Required Clinical Skills

• Experience in Medical-Surgical/Telemetry with cardiac monitoring and emergency response
• Ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias and participate in Rapid Response/Code teams
• Oxygen administration including nasal cannula, oxygen tanks, and non-invasive airway management
• IV therapy/phlebotomy with peripheral line care and management
• Knowledge of isolation precautions

Additional Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID required
• 7-year criminal background check within 3 months of start
• Various background checks including EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG within 3 months of start
• Education verification and foreign equivalency evaluation if applicable
• Physical exam, drug testing, and immunizations (including TB, Hepatitis B, MMR, Varicella, Flu) required within 5 days of contract signing
• Eye exam (Snellen) required within 1 year of start
• References and employment verification required
• Completion of facility-specific orientation and compliance modules

• Scrub colors: Navy blue and white combinations
• Magnet-recognized acute care teaching hospital with advanced stroke and cardiac services
• Floating within skillset expected

Requirements/Qualifications

• Valid RN license in New York
• Minimum of 1 year of Medical-Surgical/Telemetry experience, with recent experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
