Job Description

This position involves providing expert assessment, treatment, consultation, planning, and leadership oversight for optimal lactation management in both inpatient and outpatient settings. For patients with advanced lactation support needs, the role includes formulating interdisciplinary care plans and communicating with the care team regarding goals and plans.

Required Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Massachusetts RN license.
• Minimum of 1+ years experience as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). Equivalent certifications are not accepted.
• At least 2,500 hours of experience as a breastfeeding consultant.
• Experience with inpatient lactation programs.
• Experience with outpatient prenatal and postpartum lactation education, consultations, and/or teaching.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
• Certifications must be in hand and included with profile submission; offers will not be pending certification.
• Must have a personal vehicle for this assignment.
• Must include permanent address with profile submission (travelers residing within 50 miles of the facility will not be considered).
• All requested time off during the assignment must be noted and verified at profile submission; no more than 5 days of requested time off will be accepted. Requests after submission will not be approved.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Meditech Expanse electronic health record system is strongly preferred.

Additional Notes

• This need will also consider candidates from other clinical disciplines (OT, PT, SLP, Pharmacist) if they meet the job requirements and hold a Massachusetts license.
• Profile submissions must include work history, skills checklist relevant to lactation consulting, one supervisory signed reference from within the past two years, and board certification documentation.
• Orientation is 8 hours (non-billable).
• Holiday and overtime multipliers apply.

Important Considerations

• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
• The facility will not approve scheduling or time-off requests after offer acceptance; all scheduling requests must be made at the time of submission.
• Travelers without voicemail set up on their phones will be redirected.
