Registered Nurse (RN) - Telemetry
Location: Corpus Christi, Texas
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Unit Information
- Unit Size: 22 beds
- Staff: Approximately 30 (Day shift: 1 charge nurse, 5 RNs, 2 PCAs, 1 unit secretary, 0-2 sitters; Night shift: 1 charge nurse, 4 RNs, 1-2 PCAs, 0-2 sitters)
- Patient Ratios: Maximum 6:1
- Equipment: Standard
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR) System: Meditech
- Floating Areas: Medical/Surgical units
- Dress Code: Scrubs
Job Description
- Care for 4-6 patients at a time
- Provide nursing care for medical/surgical and orthopedic patients
- Perform standard nursing procedures including:
- IV insertions
- Urinary catheter insertion and maintenance
- Central line maintenance
- Medication administration
- Communication with care team members
- Documentation in EHR
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Texas
- Minimum 1 year of telemetry nursing experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- ACLS certification
- BLS certification
Work Schedule
- Rotating weekends
