Description

Registered Nurse - Interventional Radiology

Location: Fishersville, Virginia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Shift Options:
    • 5 days a week, 8-hour shifts (7:30 AM - 4:00 PM) with rotating weekend and weekday call
    • Or 4 days a week, 9-hour shifts
  • Unit: Procedure Room Unit with:
    • 2 Fluoroscopy Rooms
    • 2 Ultrasound Rooms
    • 1 CT-capable Room
  • Average caseload: 10-15 cases per day
  • Facility Type: Acute Care Hospital
  • Charting System: Meditech
  • Scrub Color: Black or Caribbean blue
  • Parking: Free in any unrestricted space

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia
  • Minimum of 1 year of Interventional Radiology nursing experience within the last year
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Experience

  • Specialty: Registered Nurse in Interventional Radiology

Background and Health Requirements

  • Government-issued photo ID required
  • 7-year criminal background check within 30 days of start (including SSN trace, counties/states lived/worked, sex offender registry)
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start
  • Virginia State Police background check performed by facility
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start, renewed annually
  • Negative 10-panel drug test within 30 days of start (including marijuana; zero tolerance policy)
  • TB screening: Negative QFT Gold, T-Spot, or 2-step PPD within 1 year; if positive, chest x-ray within 5 years and TB questionnaire required
  • Immunizations/vaccinations required or proof of immunity:
    • Tdap within past 10 years
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (2 MMR vaccines or positive titer)
    • Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
    • Hepatitis B (positive titer, vaccine series, or declination)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31) unless approved medical or religious exemption

Competencies and Training

  • Medication test/pharmacology competency exam as applicable
  • Core competency exams as applicable
  • Orientation safety manual acknowledgment
  • Facility-specific policies and acknowledgments (e.g., standards of appearance, confidentiality, social media, dress code, masking, compliance) must be reviewed and signed prior to start

  • Fit mask testing (N95) required annually; onsite testing available
  • Call requirements include rotating weekends and weekdays
  • Facility provides free parking in unrestricted spaces
  • Candidate must complete various facility-specific documents and forms prior to start
