Registered Nurse - Telemetry
Location: Asheville, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Unit Information
- Unit: Adult Medical-Surgical (4 West)
- Number of Beds: 34
- Staffing (Day Shift): 1 Charge RN, 6-7 RNs, 3 CNAs, 1 HUC
- Staffing (Night Shift): 1 Charge RN, 5-7 RNs, 2 CNAs, 1 HUC
- Patient Ratios: Day shift 1:4-6, Night shift 1:5-7
- EMR System: Cerner
Job Description
- Provide care for med-surg level patients with telemetry rhythm monitoring
- Assess patient condition and alert Charge RN, Manager, Rapid Response, or Provider when acuity changes
- Perform typical procedures including IV fluids, tube feeds, PEG feedings, IV antibiotics
- Participate in unit huddles at shift start (06:50 AM or 06:50 PM)
- Follow unit policies including clocking in/out for meal breaks and shift start times
- Work every other weekend or approximately 6 weekend shifts per pay period
- Dress code: Navy blue scrubs
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in North Carolina
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum 2 years of Med Surg / Telemetry nursing experience, with experience within the last year
- Current ACLS certification
- Current BLS certification
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience with ACLS certification preferred
Additional Notes
- Floating to other med-surg units or holding pod in Emergency Department may be required
- Must adhere to all hospital and unit policies and guidelines
