Description

Registered Nurse (Medical Unit Nights) - Janesville, WI

Employment Type: Contract
Location: Janesville, Wisconsin
Shift: Nights (6:30 PM - 7:00 AM)
Schedule: 12-hour shifts, every other weekend and holiday required
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Provide nursing care utilizing the nursing process and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments following approved nursing techniques, policies, standards of care, and state laws.
  • Document patient care according to standards.
  • Develop and execute individualized patient care plans as prescribed by physicians and hospital policy, including patient and family education.
  • Participate in department or unit performance improvement activities, including shared governance.
  • Provide clinical expertise and guidance to other units/departments to support the patient’s longitudinal plan of care.
  • Apply critical thinking focused on patient safety and experience, escalating concerns appropriately.
  • May be required to float to other units.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Wisconsin
  • Minimum of 1 year of Med Surg nursing experience, with recent experience within the last year
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
