Job Opportunity: Interventional Platform Nurse or Tech (Cardiology Specialty)

Position Details

Facility Overview

• 176 licensed beds
• Level 2 Trauma Center
• Level 2 NICU
• Magnet Designation
• Primary Stroke Center
• Unit includes 4 procedure rooms (pre/post areas staffed separately)
• Combined Cath Lab/Interventional Radiology (IR) department with dedicated staff for each
• Charting systems: EPIC and MERGE
• Procedural scrubs provided
• Free onsite parking

Patient Types

• Cath Lab: Invasive cardiology, structural heart program, AAA repairs, TAVRs, ablations (required)
• Interventional Radiology (IR): Non-invasive and invasive procedures including biopsies and peripheral interventions (preferred)

Staffing & Ratios

• 3 people in the procedure room: 2 Nurses and 1 Tech

Required Experience and Certifications

• Valid Interventional Radiology Technologist license in Illinois
• Minimum 2 years of Interventional Radiology Technologist experience, including experience within the last year
• Cath Lab Technologist experience
• BLS certification
• ACLS certification
• ARRT-R certification

Skills & Responsibilities

• RN: Record and circulate procedures, moderate sedation administration (typically Fentanyl and Versed, with onsite sign-off), experience with Cath Lab patient types listed above
• Tech: Scrub and record procedures

Orientation & Scheduling

• Orientation: 1-3 days on unit (based on comfort level)
• Floating between Cath Lab and IR based on skillset
• Weekend rotation: "Just call" scheduling
• Call schedule for Nurses: 1 week every 3 weeks (flexible if a deal breaker)
• Call schedule for RTs: 1 week every 3 or 4 weeks depending on role
• Call hours: Weekdays 5:30 PM – 7:30 AM, 24/7 on weekends
• Up to 7 days off can be approved
• Holiday coverage: "Just call"
