Registered Nurse (PCU) - Travel Assignment
Location: Marion, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel
Job Summary
Seeking a Registered Nurse for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) in an acute care hospital setting. The unit has 23 beds with patient ratios of 1:5 on day shift and 1:6 on night shift. The position involves working with a team including unit secretaries and patient care technicians. Documentation is done using Cerner. Floating to the Emergency Department may be required on an as-needed basis.
Unit Details
- Unit: Acute Care, 2nd Floor, Main Building
- Scrub Color: Navy
- Staffing: 1 Health Unit Coordinator (HUC), 3 Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) on days, 2 PCTs on nights
- Procedures: ICU-level skills required
- Equipment/Technology: Includes new equipment and technology supporting positive work culture
- Work Environment: Positive working conditions with many travel staff returning for multiple assignments
Required Certifications & Licenses
- Registered Nurse (RN) License (North Carolina)
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- NIH Stroke Scale Certification
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
- Minimum 2 years of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience, including experience within the last year
- Intensive Care Unit (ICU) experience
- Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Additional Information
- Dress Code: Navy scrubs required
- Scheduling: Based on facility needs
- Floating: May be required to float to Emergency Department as needed
