Registered Nurse (PCU) - Travel Assignment

Job Summary

Seeking a Registered Nurse for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) in an acute care hospital setting. The unit has 23 beds with patient ratios of 1:5 on day shift and 1:6 on night shift. The position involves working with a team including unit secretaries and patient care technicians. Documentation is done using Cerner. Floating to the Emergency Department may be required on an as-needed basis.

Unit Details

• Unit: Acute Care, 2nd Floor, Main Building
• Scrub Color: Navy
• Staffing: 1 Health Unit Coordinator (HUC), 3 Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) on days, 2 PCTs on nights
• Procedures: ICU-level skills required
• Equipment/Technology: Includes new equipment and technology supporting positive work culture
• Work Environment: Positive working conditions with many travel staff returning for multiple assignments

Required Certifications & Licenses

• Registered Nurse (RN) License (North Carolina)
• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
• NIH Stroke Scale Certification

Requirements/Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
• Minimum 2 years of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience, including experience within the last year
• Intensive Care Unit (ICU) experience
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
