Job Opportunity: Echo Tech / Cardiac Sonographer
Location: Baltimore, Maryland
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 16 weeks
Start Date: May 11, 2026
Shift: Days, 4 shifts of 10 hours (07:00 - 17:30)
Hours per Week: 40 hours
Weekend Requirement: Every third weekend required
Holiday Requirement: Required as scheduled
Floating: Required within specialty; must be mobile to units performing bedside echo exams
On-call: No pre-scheduled on-call shifts required
Job Description
Perform echocardiography exams primarily on adult and geriatric patients. Equipment preference includes Philips systems. Documentation is done using EPIC and ISCV systems. Scrub color is navy blue.
Required Experience
- Echo Technologist (2 years of experience)
- Echo Technologist experience within the last year
Required Licenses and Certifications
- ARDMS RDCS AE, CCI, or RDCS certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Patient Population
- Adult and Geriatric patients
Equipment and Documentation Systems
- Philips preferred for imaging equipment
- EPIC and ISCV for documentation
Additional Requirements and Notes
- Must be able to float within the specialty and perform bedside echo exams in various units
- Scrub color: Navy blue (pink for trauma or pediatric departments as applicable)
- Physical exam required within 1 year of start
- Fit mask test required within 1 year of start
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray required and must be updated annually
- Required immunizations/vaccinations or proof of immunity: Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella, Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap
- Negative drug screen required within 30 days prior to start
- Flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption required for the 2025-26 season
- COVID vaccine not required for this location but documentation or declination may be collected for tracking
- Two supervisory references required within 1 year of start
- Employment application/resume must be completed within 30 days of start
- Previous 5 years of work history verification required (attestation accepted)
- Background checks including 7-year criminal search, education verification, and state-specific exclusions list required
Compliance and Documentation
- Various facility-specific documents and agreements must be signed prior to start
- Security ID application must be completed within 72 hours of signing contract
- Epic training test-out form may be applicable depending on prior Epic experience
- Competency exams and medication/pharmacology tests required as applicable
This position offers a structured day shift schedule with a focus on echocardiography in adult and geriatric populations, requiring specific certifications and compliance with detailed health and background documentation protocols.
