Job Opportunity: MS/Tele Registered Nurse

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: Nights, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Patient Ratio: Able to manage 1:5 to 1:7 patient ratio on MedSurg unit
• Unit Description: Acute Stroke Unit (39 beds) specializing in acute stroke and neurological disorders, also caring for acute medical patients. Uses an adjustable acuity care model focused on evidence-based stroke care.
• Facility Type: Tertiary Care Hospital with 528 staffed beds
• Charting System: EPIC experience required

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in New York
• Telemetry experience with a minimum of 1 year within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Experience with EPIC electronic health record system

Additional Requirements

• Geographic: Locals must live within a 75-mile radius
• First Time Travelers: Accepted (prior travel experience not required)

Compliance and Onboarding Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID required
• Background checks including 7-year criminal history, SSN trace, national sex offender registry, education verification, and eligibility to work in the U.S.
• Primary source verification of state license within 30 days of start
• NURSYS verification for RN license within 30 days of start
• Physical exam, fit mask test, negative TB test or chest X-ray, and various immunizations/vaccinations (Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella) required within 5 days of contract signing and updated annually as applicable
• Drug screening within 30 days of start
• Seasonal flu vaccination or signed declination required during flu season
• Snellen eye exam within 1 year of start
• Completion of facility-specific orientation and safety manual acknowledgment
• References and employment verification required for travel candidates

This position offers an opportunity to work in a specialized acute stroke and neurological care unit within a large tertiary care hospital, requiring strong clinical skills in MedSurg/Telemetry nursing and the ability to manage moderate patient loads during night shifts.
