Job Opportunity: Ultrasound Tech/Sonographer

Location

  • Houston, Texas

  • Travel contract
  • Contract length: 13 weeks

Job Description

  • Must be fully vaccinated; declinations are not accepted.
  • Work primarily in ultrasound and vascular imaging.
  • Comfortable using GE equipment (Logiq E9) and Philips iU22.
  • Proficient with OB ultrasound across all trimesters, including Biophysical Profile (BPP).
  • Typical procedures include:
    • General ultrasound (abdomen, gynecology, renal, small parts)
    • Obstetrics (all trimesters, BPP)
    • Vascular studies (venous, arterial, carotid)
    • Pediatric ultrasound (head, pyloric stenosis)

Work Environment

  • Unit has 1 ultrasound bed in the Emergency Department and 6 in the main department.
  • Staff includes 8 full-time and 11 PRN ultrasound techs.
  • Day shift: up to 5 techs with staggered shifts.
  • Night shift: 1 tech with backup on call.
  • Weekend night shifts required.
  • On-call required at least 3 shifts per month.
  • Dress code: Hunter Green scrubs.
  • Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems used: Meditech and McKesson PACS.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist within the last year
  • ARDMS or RDMS certification
  • RVT (Registered Vascular Technologist) certification
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
  • Experience working with Maternal-Fetal patients
  • Ob/Gyn Sonographer experience
  • Vascular Sonographer experience

Additional Notes

  • Floating area limited to ultrasound only.
  • Call and weekend shifts are part of the schedule.
