Description
Registered Nurse - ICU/PCU
Location: Norwich, Connecticut
Employment Type: Long Term
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Overview
- Work in a dual level of care unit covering telemetry, PCU, and ICU, including a primary stroke center.
- Unit size: 25 beds.
- Patient cases commonly include chest pain, strokes, respiratory failure, and sepsis.
- Nurse-to-patient ratios vary by unit:
- Floor side: 1:5-6
- PCU: 1:3
- ICU: 1:2
Shift Details
- Night shift: 3 shifts of 12 hours each (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
- Schedule includes every other weekend and holidays as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Connecticut
- Minimum 2 years of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience, including ICU experience within the last year
- PCU (Progressive Care Unit) experience
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Certifications: NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system preferred

- The PCU unit is currently managing ICU overflow patients.
