Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Unit Information
- Department: Respiratory Services
- Location: Main Respiratory Therapy department, Mission Campus
- Number of beds: 854
- Number of staff: 120 respiratory therapists
- Shift staffing:
- Day shift: 15-20 RRTs for adult service lines, 3-4 RRTs for NICU/Pediatrics
- Night shift: 12-16 RRTs for adult service lines, 3-4 RRTs for NICU/Pediatrics
- Patient ratios: 10 to 25 patients per therapist
- Equipment used:
- GE R860 Adult ventilators
- Draeger Infant/Pediatric ventilators
- Newport HT70 transport ventilator
- V60 Non-invasive device
- Vapotherm and Comfort Flow high flow oxygen devices
- Electronic Medical Record system: Cerner
- Floating assignments: All critical care units and floors
- Dress code: Medium Gray/Pewter scrubs
- Weekend requirement: At least 4 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
Required Qualifications
- Valid Respiratory Care Practitioner license in North Carolina
- Respiratory Care Practitioner with a minimum of 2 years of experience
- Experience as a Respiratory Care Practitioner within the last year
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential (NBRC)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
Preferred Qualifications
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
Typical Procedures and Responsibilities
- Provide respiratory care across adult, neonatal, and pediatric populations
- Work in critical care settings including NICU and pediatric units
- Utilize advanced respiratory equipment and ventilators
Additional Information
- This role requires flexibility to float to various critical care units
- The position supports a high-acuity patient population including trauma, stroke, neonatal intensive care, pediatric subspecialties, robotic surgery, and cardiac care
