Job Opportunity: Emergency Room Registered Nurse
Location: Lubbock, Texas
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: Day shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
- Weekend Requirement: 6 weekend shifts every 6 weeks
- Patient Ratio: 1 nurse to 3 patients
- Floating: No floating between units
- On-call: Not required
- Block Scheduling: Required

Required Certifications
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
- NIH Stroke Certification (renew every 2 years)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, including experience within the last year
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certification
- ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation
- PALS certification issued by the American Heart Association or Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Required Documentation & Background Checks
- I9 Attestation
- Government-issued Photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
- Social Security Card (if applicable)
- E-Verify Attestation
- Background Check within 90 days covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years, updated annually
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start, updated monthly
- Education Verification (nursing degree verification required)
- Work History Verification and Employment Application covering at least last 5 years
- References: Minimum 2 references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within the last 3 years
- Drug Testing: 9 Panel Drug Screen within 12 months of start (instant tests acceptable with attestation)
- Physical Exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
- Immunizations and Health Documents:
- TDAP (within 10 years, declination accepted)
- Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray within 12 months, updated annually
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
- Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Seasonal Flu Vaccine during flu season (declination accepted)
- COVID vaccination record preferred (declinations not required)
- Respirator Safety Clearance (RespSafety) required for travel candidates, medically cleared annually
Additional Requirements
- Photo for badge (passport style with neutral background) required
- Float Policy Acknowledgement: Candidate may be required to float to another facility within reasonable distance
- Completion of required WorkRamp training modules (annual regulatory and specialty-specific modules) prior to start
- Competency exams and medication/pharmacology competency as applicable
- Skills Checklist updated annually for applicable units
Dress Code
- Licensed nursing personnel: solid navy blue uniforms or scrubs (scrub tops may have colored piping)
- Print tops not allowed except in Children’s Hospital and Women’s Services units

- No 48-hour shifts approved
