Description
Job Opportunity: Case Manager (Registered Nurse)
Location: Baltimore, Maryland
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 16 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM (5 days x 8 hours)
- On-Call/Weekend: No on-call requirement; weekends optional if available and needed
- Float Requirement: Must float across MedSurg units within the patient tower as necessary
- Work Setting: Acute hospital environment with outpatient clinic case management focus
- Key Responsibilities:
- Care coordination
- Discharge planning
- Needs assessment and ordering Durable Medical Equipment (DME)
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maryland
- Minimum 3 years of Case Management experience, including within the last year
- Experience in outpatient, clinic, acute care, and inpatient settings
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Care coordination, discharge planning, and needs assessment experience
- Knowledge of HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) regulations
- Acute hospital case management experience
Competencies & Exams
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam (score ≥ 80%) within 3 years of start
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam with specific scoring requirements if applicable to unit (updated annually)
- Color blindness testing (online or in-person)
- Other certifications as required by unit (e.g., ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC, EFM)
Documentation & Compliance
- Complete I-9 and E-Verify attestation prior to start
- Valid driver’s license if driving is an essential job function
- Completion of facility-specific orientation modules before hire date
- Annual acknowledgment of safety manual
- Photo for badge with specific requirements (clear, centered, no glare, solid background)
Additional Notes
- Must be able to work locally within 60 miles of the facility
- No prior travel experience explicitly required for this position
- Must comply with all facility-specific health and safety policies
This position is ideal for experienced RNs with case management expertise in acute care settings seeking a travel contract with a structured weekday schedule and no mandatory on-call duties.
