Description

CT Tech Travel/Contract Position

Location: Roanoke, Virginia
Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Schedule & Work Details

  • Shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (Friday-Sunday)
  • Typical shift hours: 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM (actual shift time may vary between 7:00 AM and 10:00 AM start based on unit needs)
  • No on-call required
  • Must be available to work or take call for one holiday during the 13-week contract (rotational with staff)
  • No first-time travelers accepted; prior travel experience required
  • Local candidates outside a specified radius are not accepted
  • May be required to float to a nearby facility approximately half a mile away

Required Licenses & Certifications

  • Active ARRT(R) and ARRT(CT) certifications
  • BLS certification (AHA)
  • Virginia state license required; active license from any state accepted initially with emergency authorization while VA license processes

Required Clinical Skills

  • Experience with Siemens CT equipment required
  • Epic electronic health record experience required
  • Preparation and/or administration of contrast media
  • Radiation safety knowledge

Required Documentation & Compliance

  • I-9 or attestation
  • Valid Driver’s License or State ID with address within 100 miles of facility
  • E-Verify or attestation
  • 7-year background check covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years (not required annually unless there is a 30+ day break between assignments)
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start and updated for renewals
  • Education verification of highest earned degree
  • Physical exam within 1 year confirming freedom from communicable diseases
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
  • Fit test within 1 year, updated annually (not required for students)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually
  • Required immunizations or positive titers: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
  • Flu vaccination or mask and declination form during flu season
  • Photo for badge (professional, plain background, no selfies or filters)
  • Completion of new hire paperwork and compliance checklists prior to start
  • Orientation safety manual acknowledgment required

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Valid CT Technologist license in Virginia
  • Minimum of 1 year of CT Technologist experience within the last year
  • Completion of at least one travel assignment
  • Active ARRT certification
  • Active ARRT (CT) certification
  • BLS certification (AHA)
  • Experience with Siemens CT equipment
  • Experience with Epic electronic health record system

Additional Requirements

  • Two clinical references required (hospital evaluations accepted)
  • Complete application/resume required
  • Annual skills checklist update required
  • Radiation badge must be supplied by the facility (not provided by agency for new candidates)
