Job Opportunity: Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Travel Assignment
Location: Carlsbad, New Mexico
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Days, rotating schedule (5:30 AM – 6:00 PM)
Hours per Week: 36
Job Description
- Provide respiratory therapies including oxygen therapy, aerosol treatments, and ventilator management.
- Conduct patient assessments and monitor responses to respiratory treatments, including pharmacological interventions.
- Perform and document Arterial Blood Gas (ABG) punctures accurately and report results promptly.
- Follow respiratory protocols and safety guidelines during all procedures.
- Manage ventilator settings and airway maintenance to ensure patient comfort and safety.
- Assist physicians with invasive and non-invasive procedures such as arterial line insertion, intubations, pulmonary function studies, cardiac and pulmonary stress tests, and blood gases.
- Deliver medicated aerosols via medical compressed gas and maintain airways.
- Provide timely diagnostic and therapeutic cardiopulmonary services to inpatients and outpatients.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Respiratory Care Practitioner license in New Mexico
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Care Practitioner, including experience within the last year
- ACLS certification
- BLS certification
- NRP certification
