Description

Job Opportunity: Oncology Chemo Certified Nurse

Location

  • Washington, District of Columbia

Employment Type

Contract Length

  • 13 weeks

Work Schedule

  • Day shift, 4x10 hour shifts (7:00 AM – 5:30 PM)
  • Weekend coverage every other weekend
  • Required to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity

Job Description

  • Clinical Nurse Coordinator role in outpatient oncology infusion center
  • Required skills: Biotherapy, Chemotherapy, IV Therapy/Infusions, Medication Administration, Oncologic Emergencies, IV push narcotic agents, Isolation and Neutropenic Precautions, Symptom management
  • Preferred skills: Phlebotomy, Previous Charge Experience
  • Work settings required: Infusion Center, Outpatient oncology
  • Work settings preferred: Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT), Inpatient oncology

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in District of Columbia
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Minimum 2 years of Hematology/Oncology nursing experience, including experience within the last year
  • Experience in an outpatient setting with infusion experience
  • Completion of at least one prior travel nursing assignment
  • Certifications required:
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC)
    • Chemotherapy certification from Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) or Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation (ONCC)

Additional Notes

  • Must complete facility-specific orientation modules prior to start
  • Photo for badge required (clear, well-lit, no glare, solid background)
  • Required to have current and valid driver's license if driving is an essential job function
  • Must comply with all facility health and safety policies, including annual safety manual acknowledgment
  • Weekend coverage every other weekend is required
