Description
Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Nurse (Registered Nurse)
Location: Pocatello, Idaho
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (5:00 PM – 5:00 AM)
Hours per Week: 36 hours
Job Description
- Provide nursing care in Labor & Delivery unit.
- Unit accepts first-time travel nurses.
- Must reside at least 100 miles from the facility.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Idaho.
- Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery nursing experience, with experience within the last year.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- AWHONN Intermediate
- FHM (Fetal Heart Monitoring)
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- I-9 verification and E-Verify compliance.
- Valid Driver’s License or State ID.
- 7-year background check completed within 1 year of start date, including SS trace, county searches, nationwide sex offender check, and education verification.
- Education verification of highest level completed.
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start.
- Physical exam within 12 months of start.
- Fit mask test within 1 year of start, renewed annually.
- Immunizations and titers required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines
- Hepatitis B: Positive titer, series, or declination accepted
- Varicella: Positive titer, 2 vaccines, or physician-documented history
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 – Mar 31). Declinations not accepted.
- TB questionnaire required annually if positive TB test history.
Additional Requirements
- Completion of unit-specific skills checklist annually.
- Work history verification for the past 7 years.
- Completion of employment application/resume.
- Clear headshot photo for badge.
- Orientation safety manual acknowledgment and HIPAA compliance.
Notes
- Prior travel experience is not required.
- Fingerprinting and additional background checks may apply depending on state or facility policies.
- Candidates must be prepared to meet all health and safety documentation requirements prior to start.
This position offers an opportunity to work nights in a Labor & Delivery unit with a supportive environment for first-time travel nurses.
