Description
Interventional Radiology Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Roanoke, Virginia
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shift, 4x10-hour shifts (7:30 AM - 6:00 PM), Monday-Friday with 1 rotating day off
Weekend Requirement: Possible weekend coverage
On Call: Required; one primary call per week and one primary call weekend per month with a 30-minute callback time
Patient Population: Inpatient/outpatient Interventional Radiology department including angiography suites, CT scanner, fluoroscopy suite for pain management, and advanced imaging technologies
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Virginia
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 1 year of Interventional Radiology experience within the last year
- ACLS issued by American Heart Association
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- PALS issued by American Heart Association
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system
Scheduling and Work Requirements
- Must be available to work or take call one holiday per 13-week contract (rotational basis)
- Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
- Local candidates are not accepted due to radius restrictions
Required Documentation and Compliance
- I-9 or attestation
- Valid Driver’s License/State ID with an address more than 100 miles from the facility (required within 48 hours of signing)
- E-Verify or attestation
- 7-year background check (covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years) completed within 1 year of start
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated for contract renewals
- Education verification of highest earned degree
- NURSYS verification for RN license within 30 days of start
- Physical exam within 1 year of start confirming freedom from communicable diseases
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually
- Fit test within 1 year, updated annually (not required for students)
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
- Required immunizations or positive titers: Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B (vaccine series, positive titer, or declination)
- TB questionnaire required for all candidates
- Photo for badge (professional, plain background, no selfies or filters)
- Completion of new hire paperwork and compliance checklists prior to start
- Review of contract staff orientation manual (not required for inpatient RNs)
- Signature on pain assessment expectation form for inpatient RNs

- Two clinical references (hospital evaluations accepted)

- Annual update of skills checklist
- Medication/pharmacology competency exam as applicable
- Core competency exams as applicable
