Job Opportunity: X-Ray Tech (Travel/Contract)
Location: Indianapolis, Indiana
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: Night shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
- Work Hours: 36 hours per week
- Facility Type: Level 1 trauma center with over 30 operating rooms, 6 ICUs, 70+ bed emergency room, and approximately 700 inpatient beds
- Equipment Used: GE and Siemens imaging systems
- Patient Care Areas: Extremities, Abdomen/GI, Spine/Pelvis, Chest/Thorax, Emergency Room, Operating Room, Level 1 Trauma, Surgery/C-Arm
Required Qualifications
- Valid Radiology Technician license in Indiana
- Minimum 1 year of Radiology Technician experience within the last year
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification
- Experience as an X-Ray Technician
Health & Safety Requirements
- Physical exam completed within 12 months of start date
- Fit mask test within 12 months (3M N95 or Honeywell approved respirators)
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 12 months (including amphetamines, marijuana, cocaine, opiates, PCP)
- Immunizations and titers:
- Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required; no declinations accepted
- Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required; no declinations or history accepted
- Hepatitis B: Series, titer, or signed declination required
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap: Strongly recommended but not required
- Tuberculosis screening: Negative TB test (PPD, QuantiFERON-TB Gold, or T-SPOT) within 1 year; if positive, chest X-ray and documentation required
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (9/30 - 3/31); declinations not accepted
Background & Documentation
- Background check required within 90 days of start, including:
- 7-year residential/work history
- SSN trace, county/state/national criminal checks
- National sex offender registry
- FACIS Level III
- Education verification
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start
- Clear copies of official transcript or diploma required (may be pending at start)
- Valid driver’s license or passport copy required
- Employment application with full work history and explanation of any gaps over 30 days
- Minimum of 2 professional references from recent employment verified within 2 years (supervisory or managerial titles required)
- Skills checklist completed within 12 months and updated annually
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are accepted
- Overtime is available and encouraged
- Call-in policy: Missed contracted shifts must be made up during the pay period or added to the end of the contract depending on FTE status
- Facility-specific orientation and compliance forms must be completed prior to start, including a mandatory self-study orientation and test
- Mandatory completion of facility-required training modules before orientation (for applicable roles)
This position offers an opportunity to work in a high-acuity Level 1 trauma center with diverse imaging responsibilities and advanced equipment. Candidates should be prepared for night shifts and meet all licensure, certification, and health requirements.
