MRI Tech Travel/Contract Job in South Carolina
Location: Greer, South Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Monday-Friday, 4:30 PM - 12:00 AM (Night shift, 5 days/week, 7.5 hours/day)
Call/Floating: Required call and floating as needed; floating limited to qualified units with documented competencies.
Job Description
- Work alongside an MRI assistant.
- Scrub color: Hunter Green.
- Floating may be required to other units or campuses as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience as an MRI Technologist, including experience within the last year.
- ARRT (MR) certification.
- BLS certification.
- Experience with Epic system.
Required Compliance & Documentation
- Background check: 7-year history within 12 months of start, including alias and multi-state searches.
- E-Verify or attestation.
- Drug screening: 5-panel within 12 months, updated annually.
- Physical exam: Physician’s statement within 1 year attesting ability to meet physical demands.
- Immunizations and health documents (as applicable):
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 90 days of start.
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years if working in high-risk areas.
- Flu vaccine or approved exemption required annually (not required for remote workers).
- Other immunizations: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B (documentation or declination).
- Respirator fit test to be completed onsite during orientation.
- Photo for badge: Passport-style with specific background and no obstructions.
- Completion of online orientation modules and pass/fail testing prior to start (approximately 12-16 hours total).
- Annual competency exams and core training (Parts I, II, III) including universal precautions, cultural diversity, pain management, OSHA, and patient safety goals.
- Medication and arrhythmia competency testing as applicable.
- HIPAA and safety manual acknowledgment.
- Floating policy acknowledgment (clinical staff only).
Additional Notes
- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
- Orientation includes 16 hours of non-billable time onsite.
- Candidates must complete online modules within 72 hours of assignment.
- Pass/fail testing includes medication and EKG/arrhythmia exams with two attempts allowed; failure results in cancellation.
- Floating is prioritized to home unit but may be required elsewhere within competency.
- Badge photo must be submitted timely to allow badge creation before start.
- Fingerprinting required only if applicable based on residency and role.
- Some certifications (e.g., ACLS, PALS, TNCC, ENPC) may be required depending on unit assignment; check unit-specific requirements.
This position offers a structured night shift schedule with a defined contract length and requires a strong background in MRI technology, EPIC system experience, and compliance with extensive credentialing and health documentation standards.
