Emergency Department (ED)
Level IV Trauma Center
Primary Stroke Center
Accredited Chest Pain Center
Patients of all ages
Bed count: 21 + 6 bed annex
Patient Ratios:
- RN: 1:4 (days and nights)
- Tech: 1:8 (days and nights)

Requirements/Qualifications

Valid RN license in Wisconsin
Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, including experience within the last year
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
BLS (Basic Life Support)
ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
TNCC or TNS (Trauma Nursing Core Course or Trauma Nurse Specialist)
CPI or MOAB (Crisis Prevention Intervention or Management of Aggressive Behavior)
Critical care level skill set

Skills & Competencies

Ability to work with telemetry monitoring (without telemetry tech support)
Familiarity with emergency department workflows

Support & Resources

Charge nurse with reduced patient assignment
In-house hospitalist and ED physician 24/7
Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) 24/7
Phlebotomy support for peripheral blood draws
Nursing station telemetry monitoring (no telemetry tech)

Technology & Equipment

EMR system: EPIC
IV Pumps: Alaris
Medication Dispensing: Pyxis
Patient Monitors: GE Monitors

Orientation & Scheduling

Orientation: At least 1 shift to learn unit flow
Weekend rotation: 1 weekend per month
Time off: Up to 7 days approved
No call required
No holiday work expected
