- 12-hour night shifts
- 36 hours per week
Unit & Patient Population
- Emergency Department (ED)
- Level IV Trauma Center
- Primary Stroke Center
- Accredited Chest Pain Center
- Patients of all ages
- Bed count: 21 + 6 bed annex
- Patient Ratios:
- RN: 1:4 (days and nights)
- Tech: 1:8 (days and nights)
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Wisconsin
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, including experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
- TNCC or TNS (Trauma Nursing Core Course or Trauma Nurse Specialist)
- CPI or MOAB (Crisis Prevention Intervention or Management of Aggressive Behavior)
- Critical care level skill set
Skills & Competencies
- Ability to work with telemetry monitoring (without telemetry tech support)
- Familiarity with emergency department workflows
Support & Resources
- Charge nurse with reduced patient assignment
- In-house hospitalist and ED physician 24/7
- Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) 24/7
- Phlebotomy support for peripheral blood draws
- Nursing station telemetry monitoring (no telemetry tech)
Technology & Equipment
- EMR system: EPIC
- IV Pumps: Alaris
- Medication Dispensing: Pyxis
- Patient Monitors: GE Monitors
Orientation & Scheduling
- Orientation: At least 1 shift to learn unit flow
- Weekend rotation: 1 weekend per month
- Time off: Up to 7 days approved
- No call required
- No holiday work expected
