Description

Registered Nurse - Cardiovascular Surgery

Location

  • Dallas, Texas
  • Unit: Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR)
  • Facility details: 5 ORs (3 open, 2 hybrid), 1st Floor, Heart Tower
  • Patient ratio: 1:1
  • EMR system: Meditech

Employment Type

  • Travel contract
  • Contract length: 13 weeks

Work Schedule

  • 36 hours per week
  • Day shift staff includes RN, CST, AT, PCT
  • Night shift is on-call with a 45-minute response time
  • Weekends and nights covered by call shifts

Unit Environment

  • Number of staff: 15
  • Equipment: Operating Room (OR) equipment
  • Floating area: Spine OR
  • Dress code: Scrub color/attire provided for OR staff

  • Coronary Artery Bypass Graft (CABG)
  • Aortic Valve Replacement (AVR)
  • Mitral Valve Replacement (MVR)
  • Aortic replacements
  • Vascular procedures
  • Heart transplants

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
  • Minimum 1 year of Operating Room (OR) experience, including within the last year
  • Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) experience
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Certifications: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS)
