Description
Registered Nurse - Med Surg (Travel)
Location
- Corpus Christi, Texas
- Unit: 2 North, 16 beds, 25 staff members
- Patient mix: Approximately half medical/surgical patients and half COVID-19 positive patients
- EMR system: Meditech
- Equipment: Standard medical equipment
Unit Details
- Day shift staffing: 1 charge nurse, 3-4 RNs, 1 PCA
- Night shift staffing: 1 charge nurse, 3 RNs, 1 PCA
- Patient ratio: Maximum 6 patients per nurse
- Floating areas: Medical/surgical units
Job Description
- Care for 4-6 patients at a time
- Provide care for medical/surgical patients including COVID+ cases
- Perform standard nursing procedures such as IV insertions, urinary catheter insertion and maintenance, central line maintenance, medication administration
- Communicate effectively with the care team and document in the electronic health record
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
- Telemetry experience within the last year (minimum 1 year)
- BLS certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Work Schedule
- Approximately 36 hours per week
- Travel contract length: 13 weeks
